Are you concerned with the inrush current when the system is starting up or whenever the green LED is switching on during normal operation?

Although the high inrush current raises concerns about the noise level on the board, the main issue is that the product shuts down when it starts operating from a PC via USB PD (5V 3A). Various attempts have been made to resolve this, including adding external capacitors and inductors, but these measures do not provide a fundamental solution.

The inrush current is not going to change to below 2A. The Inductor/Capacitor power tank needs to be enough to handle this but we don't tune this because of multiple reasons - different LEDs, etc. - and 

If your system is turning off, what is your power supply? We utilize a 19V power supply from a 120VAC plug. This detailed in our DLPC347x controller related EVM User's Guides.

The desired maximum current is below 3A.
The power is intended to be supplied through a laptop's USB PD (5V, 3A, 15W).
As shown in the posted waveform, the actual LED operates below 3A during normal operation, but an inrush current exceeding 3A occurs only at the moment of startup.

I would appreciate it if you could provide a guide to resolve this issue.

Again, an inrush current below 2A is not likely to be reduced.

Other customers trying to interface with our systems have experienced issues with power supplies that are much closer to our power inputs. Again, our system power supply is capped at 65W of power, 15W is quite low.

As you mentioned, 15W is indeed a relatively low power source. However, we made the request considering that the resolution of the DLP we are using is low, and the brightness of the LED is not particularly high. Nevertheless, we will thoroughly review the concerns you raised.
