DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2: Roles of wires in LED cables

Hello,

I purchased DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2. It has 3 LED cables connected to J2 (Blue), J3 (Green), J4 (Red) connectors. J2 cable has 6 wires (3 blue wires, 3 white wires). J3 cable has 6 wires (3 green wires, 3 white wires), J4 cable has 5 wires (3 red wires, 2 white wires). Could you please let me know the role of each wire in these cables?

Hi Ryoma,

The wires are split up based on the current rating they can support. You can find additional information regarding their connections in the reference design. (link)

I want to know what kind of signals are sent through each of the 6 wires in a cable. I could not find the relevant information in the reference design file. I need the information because I am considering adding an external gating circuit to them to control ON/OFF of the LED light.

Ryoma,

There is not signal sent through these wires. It is only power to the LEDs, the multiple wires in parallel splits the total power between them.

Do both colored wires (blue, green, red) and white wires provide power to LED? No difference between colored and white wires?

Hi Ryoma,

As shown in the schematic, these connections are to the anode and cathode of the LED, please see the screenshot below. These connections are only power.
