DLP781TE: Do you have any EVM module for DLP781TE DMD?

Part Number: DLP781TE
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP780TEEVM, DLP4710EVM-LC

Tool/software:

Do you have any EVM module for DLP781TE DMD?

Also Is there any way we can use more powerful LEDs in existing DLP5530 and DLP4710EVM?

  • Hello Abhishek,

I have assigned a couple of our team to address your questions.

    Fizix

  • Hi Abhishek,

I support the DLP5530 and can get my other colleague who supports the DLP781TE DMD to work with me to understand these requirements. Please allow us a few days to talk about this.

Do you happen to have any specific illumination requirements for your application? What do you plan on using this DMD for? This may help us better understand your question and give more suggestions.

    Thank you,
    Michael Ly

  • Hi again Abhishek,

Sorry about the delay. May I please know what application space you are planning to work with?

Are you planning on mixing DMDs with different controllers? If so, this is generally not supported. Please let us know, thank you.

    Regards,
    Michael Ly

  • Hello Abhishek,

The DLP781TE DMD does NOT have it's own EVM, this is correct. The offered DLP780TEEVM is a drop-in compatible solution as an EVM.

Additionally, note that the DLP4710EVM-LC system is an all-in-one solution and TI does not own the optical engine design. I would recommend working with one of our optics development companies through our OMM-Search tool.

    Best,

    Aaron

  • Hi Abhishek,

It's been about a month since initial reply, and we have not received any updates on your part.

I'm going to mark Aaron's reply as the solution to this thread. You can open the ticket back up within 14 days if you reply to this thread again. Else, you may create a new E2E ticket or thread, and we will happily help.

Again, the DLP781TE DMD does not have its own EVM.

To use more powerful LEDs, you would have to check the DMD's power density over different light spectra. Someone in our optical team or our list of OMMs could help design a system around that spec.
