DLPDLCR160CPEVM: Problem with DLP EVM GUI on Windows 11

Part Number: DLPDLCR160CPEVM

Tool/software:

I'm using the DLPDLCR160CPEVM for my project, and I've installed the DLP EVM GUI for testing the board before proceeding.
After installing DLP EVM GUI 4.0.0.15 on my laptop, the software is not working; there is a process of the software running on the laptop, but the GUI never shows up.
I notice in the README file that this problem might be caused by a corrupted XML file, but I can't figure out which XML file in my installation folder is similar to the one in the instructions.
Is there a problem related to compatibility between Windows 11 and the software, and how can I fix this issue?

My system information:

OS: Windows 11 24H2
.NET Framework: 4.8
RAM: 20GB
CPU: Intel i5-11200H.

  • Hello User,

This GUI has been used on our Windows 11 desktops without the issue reported. Can you have windows uninstall the GUI and rerun the executable?

    Best,

    John

  • Thanks for replying to me.

Actually, I had tried this method many times, but it did not work.
I even tried to install and execute the software on another laptop running Windows 10, and got the same problem.
Therefore, I believe this problem is related to the corrupted XML files mentioned in the README, and I quote:

"When unable to open the EVM GUI, which may be caused by invalid XML file
find and delete the EVM's XML file (example DLPC2010LC.xml) located at
    AppData\Roaming\Texas Instruments\DLP EVM GUI"

I hope you can instruct me on how to locate these files.

    Sincerely,
    Duy Hung
