DLP light commnader control software error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPR200, DLPC200

Hi,

I have DLP light commander development kit (Model No. DLP-LC-DLP5500-10R-A) containing 0.55XGA series 450 DMD with DLPC 200 controller and DLPA 200 Analog Driver.

I have downloaded and installed DLP light commnder control software ver 1.0.92.495 for controlling the kit from logipd webiste. The application program interface (API) for DLPC200, Configuration Firmware for DLPC200 and Driver software for Light COmmander USB interface were downloaded and installed form TI website (http://www.ti.com/tool/dlpr200#Technical%20Documents)

After powering on the kit, I tried to run the demo project from the control software through USB cable. I recieved an error which states that "MCU firmware version is not compatible with the API for this control software.... Download latest MCU firmware .....When this file is downloaded, use by selecting "Update Master Controller Program memory...".

Can any help in finding the correct version of the API to resolve the version conflict.

Thank you

Hiren

  • Hi Hiren,

Welcome to DLP & MEMS forume.

In this new version of DLP light commnder control software ver 1.0.92.495 it we check for DLPR200F software compatibility. Since the firmware on the LightCommander(TM) is old you are getting this error. The MCU version should read 2.1.5.

To upgrade do the following -

Download the DLPR200F from the website http://www.ti.com/tool/dlpr200#Technical%20Documents It is a zip file you will have to unzip and install on your PC. On windows PC it will installed at C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments-DLP\DLP LightCommander DLPC200 Firmware

So when you power ON the LC you will get the warning select cancel to remove the message; then go to LightCommander Control software ->Tools-> Update Master Controller Program Memory... then select the binary file from the above loaction where you have installed the firmware i.e., C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments-DLP\DLP LightCommander DLPC200 Firmware

Let me know if you still find the problem.

    Regards,
    Sanjeev
