Good morning

It possible use pin1 of LM2588 for dimmer Vout ?

Dimmable with square signal variable duty cicle

Thank you

  • Hi Simone,

Thanks for using the e2e forum.
Pin 1 of LM2588 has two features.
One is the setting of the switching frequency.
Two is disabling and enabling the device.

Setting this pin will not affect the regulated output voltage. The converter will always try to maintain the set output voltage, independent of the switching frequency.

If you want to adjust the output voltage during operation, you need to inject a signal into the feedback pin.
Here is a reference design with an adjustable output voltage:

This design uses the LM5155 device, which is a controller with external MOSFET.
If an integrated MOSFET like LM2588 is preferred, I can recommend the LM5158 device.

    Best regards,
    Niklas
