DLPNIRNANOEVM: DLPNIRNANOEVM stuck with green power LED, cannot connect to PC

Part Number: DLPNIRNANOEVM

Tool/software:

Hello,
I am using the DLP NIRscan Nano Evaluation Module (DLPNIRNANOEVM). The issue is that when powering on the board, the Power LED turns green and stays on, but the device does not show up when connected to my PC via USB. I already tried pressing the reset button, but the problem persists.

  • The green LED stays on constantly.

  • The device is not recognized in Device Manager (Windows 10).

  • I tried different USB cables and ports.

  • I also reinstalled the drivers, but the board still does not connect.

Could you please advise how to fix this issue, or what further troubleshooting steps I can try?
Thank you.

  • Hello Siriput,

Thank you for coming to E2E! To begin with, could you advise what was done before this behavior was seen? Had a new firmware been programmed, a scan just been performed, etc., or is this a brand new evaluation?

With a constant Green light, it seems that the device could be in a 'hibernation mode' but you've tried pressing the 'reset' or 'wake' button an no response has followed. There is an option to place this in a bootloader mode under section K3 of the DLPNIRNANOEVM User's Guide. Please look at section "NIRscan Nano Updated with Untested/Faulty Tiva Firmware" and follow this to try and recover if fault continues to be seen. This is possible with Tiva code equal to or higher than v2.1.

    Best,

    Aaron

  • Before this issue occurred, I soldered a new button because the previous user had broken the original one. After that, the device worked normally. However, when I later tried to reconnect it to my computer, it did not connect, and the green LED did not turn on. When I pressed the reset button, the green light stayed on continuously, and when I pressed it again, the light turned off and remained off.

Could you please advise on how to proceed with troubleshooting this situation?

  • Hello Siriput,

If you have USB not connected and instead through battery, does this work?
