Hello! I recently purchased a LightCrafter but did not have a chance to try it as the cables are "sold separately".
Where can I find the references that would allow me to purchase the appropriate power supply?
Thanks!

Hello Pierre,
We are currently working with our distributors and other 3rd parties to ensure a convenient, reliable purchase path for power supplies. In the interim, here are several options:

Hi again,
I just checked the links given in 2. and noticed that both of them have a currnt output lower than the 2A minimum specified on the lightcrafter specifications...
Does it matter or should I give one of those a try anyway?
Hi Pierre,
Digi-Key will also be offering a compatible power supply with a higher maximum current output. Digi-Key is now accepting orders at this URL:

Dear Team,
The Digikey supply is currently on backorder until 3/21/12. Do we have any other suggested supplies and sources? We would like to get something this week.
Thank You,
Dear George,
You can acquire a power supply rated at 1.2A from the links mentioned earlier in the same post.
But, you should note that the LED currents should be set at suitable values. For instance, at 20 lumens (setting of LED current to 100), LightCrafter consumes 0.5A. For the same brightness and LED current setting of 274, it consumes 0.7A.
Depending on the DDR memory access by DM365, high speed patterns, increase in lumens, or with the fan on, the power draw increases up to 2-2.5A.

Hi Divya,
I am a little confused here with the power supply for the LightCrafter. The links you have posted have variable voltage but max current of 1200mA. However, according to the DLP® LightCrafter™ Evaluation Module (EVM), "Power supply: 5-V output with 2- to 3-A current rating" is required. Is the current component not important? Please advice.
Thanks
Bharat Mankani
Hi Bharat,
Welcome to DLP & MEMS Section of TI E2E Community!
Sorry for the confusion. The output current rating is important. You can purchase the LightCrafter power supply from Digi-Key, http://www.digikey.com/scripts/dksearch/dksus.dll?vendor=0&keywords=t1212-p12p-nd

I have a DLP Lightcrafter and I am trying to determine the best power supply. Sometimes you say 5v and sometimes you say 12v.
Which is it?
Hello Tim,
I think the confusion exists because there are two LightCrafters that are covered by this forum:
Original LightCrafter (I like to call this the LightCrafter3000) - 5V
LightCrafter4500 - 12V
I hope this helps.
Fizix
Hi Fizix,
Thanks so much for the response. It really does help.
How about my other problem. It functions ok unless you remove and then reapply power in a short amount of time.
If that happens, it will boot until the very last perhaps 10% and then get stuff there forever.
Any ideas?
Thanks for your help.
Tim
Timothy,
Can you clarify your problem for me? I'm not exactly sure what the issue you're experiencing is with pulling the power supply.....
Thanks,
Paul
