External Pattern Sequence LightCrafter

Hello,

I would like to project a sequence of externally defined 24 bit .BMP images using the LightCrafter.  My understanding is that a single 24 bit image can be projected while in 'Static Image Mode', or a sequence of images can be displayed as bit planes using 'Pattern Sequence' mode to project a single image.  I've read in another forum post that an 'External Pattern' mode is on the way in a future LightCrafter software release.

Is there currently a way to project a small series (say 3-5) 24 bit images in sequence?  If this feature will be added in a future software release, when do you expect that release?

Thank you for the assistance!

Sincerely,

Rob

  • Hello Robert,

Yes, you are right. You can upload a 608*684 24bit RGB image in the "Static Image Mode" one at a time. "Pattern Sequence Mode" allows to display a sequence of 12 8-bit patterns or 96 1-bit depth patterns.

One of the ways to project a series of 24 bit images is to implement DM365 command interface to interact with the Lightcrafter at 60Hz (max) frame rate. You should be aware that the previous image will be overwritten by the next pattern to be displayed. For further details on the DM365 command interface, please refer to DLP® LightCrafter™ DM365 Command Interface Guide here.

It might take about a month for the sample code to be available. I will update you with any changes.

  • Hallo, do you have any idea? Thx

  • Hi Di Zhang1,

DLP LightCrafter's Sample code is available for download.

The .zip file contains the source code which enables LightCrafter control  through APIs via USB.

DLP LightCrafter Sample Code 1.0.zip :  Contains implementation of DM365 command interface definitions. This code initializes the LightCrafter and allows sending/ receiving of the data packets and command line control.

DLP LightCrafter Sample Linux Application 1.0.zip : A Linux application has been created with the above source code. This application demonstrates different display modes, current control of LEDs and creation of solutions.

Further details are provided in the Readme files.

    Regards,
