Alley,
Welcome to the TI DLP&MEMS E2E forum.
I do not understand your question. Which DMD are you referring to? Where did you get these numbers?
Perhaps I can help if I understand where your question comes from.
Best regards,
Pascal
Hi Alley,
Thanks for your participation on the E2E Community Site. Which DMD are you using (Size and Resolution)? I see you have 1270, 1500, and 2400 for your resolutions, but I am unaware of the above resolutions. Which Developer's Kit or Light Engine are you using?
Justin
infect! I use basysprint uv-setter 850. They made CtP on different resolution like 1270,1500,2400 etc. I have purchased 1500dpi CtP and i read in the manual that you always select 1500dpi with X value 17340 and Y value 13005.
First is resolution and what are X value, Y value. i don't understand these values.
Does these x,y values show the DMD mirror lines which are select during the exposure.
Alley,
You will need to contact Basysprint (Xeikon) and ask them this question. They should be able to give you the best answer.

Pascal
Alley,
Honestly, that is why I answered as I did. I don't know. Their system doesn't correspond to any resolution spec that I am familiar with from our DMDs. It is most likely a feature of their firmware/software - which is then translated to actual DMD terms. I don't know the details.

ok, X and Y values are the exposing area on the CtP plate in microns.
We can define exposure area about the resolution if our resolution is 1500dpi the "X" value should be 17340um and
"Y" value 13005um. This is done.
Basysprint used Texas Instruments DMD in his UV-Setter. It has a size of approx. 1.5cm. If DMD mirror size is 16um
and 1um gutter between them. The total area of dmd should be from X side 16+1x1024=16384um and from Y side should
be 16+1x768=13056 about the dimensions of DMD.
My qestion is that my DMD size from the X side is 16384um and Y side is 13056um. Basysprint says if your machine
is 1500dpi then the DMD exposure area should be 17340um and 13005um. How it is possible. the size of DMD is vary
from the exposing area.
another question is What is "Pitch"?
Alley,
Again, let me emphasize that you should be asking Basysprint these questions, since we don't know their system.
Your question: Why is the exposure area different in size from the DMD? Imaging optics. The optics (lenses, etc.) which are used to image the DMD plane onto the exposure area can create reduction or magnification. So, the DMD and exposure areas don't have to match in absolute dimensions.
Your question: What is pitch? Pitch is the spacing of the individual mirrors of the DMD array, measured mirror center to mirror center. Pitch is specified at the DMD mirror array surface - not in the imaged plane.
I hope this helps.

Pascal
