Separating image controller from DMD board

Hello,

I am trying to separate the image controller from the integrator rod and DMD board. I will do this so I can use my own light source. How should I go about separating the image controller (gray) from the black piece which contains the integrator rod, DMD board and projector optics?

Thank you for your assistance.

  • Laura,

Welcome to the DLP&MEMS E2E forum.

Perhaps this document will help: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/dlpa028/dlpa028.pdf

See Section 2.1. This doesn't go into great detail, but it may be sufficient. Not that many (most) of the screws are Torx (not hex) head.

Please let me know if you experience too much difficulty.

  • Thank you, I had seen that pdf before. In the process of disassembling, I stripped the screws but was able to use a hex to remove it. At my first few attempts it seemed like the imaging controller was not able to be removed from the integrator rod. Thank you again for your help.
