get more images from SDcard in Pattern Sequence Mode

hi

As you all know , in the Pattern Sequence Mode ,it only allow 12 8bit images .Now I need to get more images .I don`t know whether can I read images from SDcard ? And are there any other methods given to solve this problem.

Thanks

  • Wang Zhen,

Welcome to the DLP & MEMS E2E forum. I apologize for the late response.

It is possible to load images from the SD card. However, this is quite slow - it is works like a "slide-show". For pattern use, it is not fast enough, and it does not work with the triggers. You would not want to use the SD card image mode for structured light applications.

The max 12 8-bit (96 1-bit) image limitation is a result of the architecture of the buffer memory of the LightCrafter.

However, there is an "extended" pattern mode which can be used. See the following links:

Sanjeev explained this mode on the E2E post: http://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp__mems_micro-electro-mechanical_systems/f/850/p/206767/735703.aspx#735703

For information on this configuration, refer to DLPC300 programmer's guide http://www.ti.com/general/docs/lit/getliterature.tsp?baseLiteratureNumber=dlpu004&fileType=pdf section 2.3.1.1.2.4 8-bit Monochrome External Video

Note that this mode requires the addition of a zero-ohm resistor in place R205 on the LightCrafter system board. It also requires at least v3.8 GUI - which allows you to manually insert a number greater than 96 (12) in the number of patterns box. Then you upload all of your patterns. Note the timing constraints talked about in the thread (above).
