Intensity level

Hello,

I have been evaluating the displayed pattens by LightCommnder(LC), using my unique optical system.

The LC setting conditions are as follows.

· Structured light

· Static image buffer

· 8bit grayscale

·20Hz frame rate

·10 patterns stored

I detected output images using high speed camera, but it was different from input images.

Concretely, the frame rate looks correct, but intensity level looks like 3bit. Not 8bit!

I missing something?

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

  • Hi Kazuhiro,

You may want check your  camera/capture side settings. What is the camera exposure setting in your camera? Also make sure you are turning off auto white-balance, auto-gain and contrast settings of the camera. I am assuming you are triggering camera from Sync O/P, if not you need to do the same.

  • Hi  Sanjeev,

    Thanks for your reply.

I checked my camera setting. I confirmed all auto correction turned off. In addition, the gamma value of the camera is nearly 1.

I think that the change of intensity level of illumination should be captured because I make the setting of the high-speed camera frame rate 1,000Hz though I do not sync.

Of course I finally took an average 50(=1000Hz/20Hz) frames each, after having captured the data.

Therefore I think that the camera setting does not have any problem.

Can you think of anything else?

By the way, May I talk individually by E-mail from now on? Because I want to talk more detailed thing.

    Regards,

    Kazuhiro

  • Hi Kazuhiro,

Your avg of 50 frames looks OK to me. Can you run your camera in h/w trigger mode? and keep the exposure time not more than the trigger period. Let me know how it looks.

Another check, try testing your camera with someother source, and verify it is working fine. At this point of time I don't have anyother thoughts, the projector displays 8-bit grayscale at 20Hz.

Sure, I will send your friends request we can discuss offline.

    Regards,

    Sanjeev
