Does the DLPC200 DDR2 SDRAM really require the termination resistors?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC200

I'm considering the BOM cost reduction for the DLPC200 control board.

If the DDR2 SDRAM ODT(On Die Termination) function is used , I thought the termination resistors might not to be required.

What is the DLPC200's "MEM_ODT" signal role? Can you please advise regarding this question?

Thank you and best regards,

Rossinag

  • Rossinag,

The termination resistors are still recommended for impedance matching at the high-speed DDR bus. So we highly recommend to follow the reference design guildlines. To answer your question YES you must use the termination resistors in your design.
