Using the external Trigger input

hi, I need to use an external trigger input to drive the DLP kit. I have seen a lot of discussions about using the trigger output, but only a few about input.

I understand that I need to use pin 2 and 4 to connect to the source.

I am using point grey cameras, which can output 3.3v TTL signal. However, according to the camera documentation, it is stated that the camera's output pins "have almost no drive strength (they are high impedance) and need to be buffered with a transistor or driver."

Given my requirement and the above information, I am just wondering if there is anything I need to do other than just connecting the wires. If I do need a drive, can someone provide some guideline? I am a CS person.
