DLP lightcrafter

Hi,

May i know how to go about starting DLP Lightcrafter module?
Is it using usb and power supply?
May i know what type of usb is needed and the power supply?

With these two items, we can connect it to the pc, right?

How do check if the board is working fine?

Hi kuma la and welcome to the forum!

To start using the DLP LightCrafter you will need a 5-V DC power supply, mini-USB cable, and the LightCrafter GUI. The DLP LightCrafter User's Guide describes the exact process to use the EVM. The following links should be helpful for you to start using the LightCrafter.

Hi Blair,

We got a ligthcrafter and as we start there is an error message..more or less...:

FPGA firmware version mismatch!!!

Please update to v2.6.43 downloading the software bundle version 2.1 from ...web site.

But on the redirected site we got the Software bundle version 2.0.1 and not 2.1...

anyway we downloaded the available 2.0.1 and still we have the above message....

any help?

Did you install the FPGA and DM365 firmware from the 2.0.1 Software Bundle on your LightCrafter? Could you take a screenshot of the GUI and the error message for me?

yes I installed the FPGA and DM365 firmware from the 2.0.1 Software Bundle,

this is the error message that appear when I connect the LightCrafter

Hi Marco,

After looking at your screenshot it doesn't appear that you have upgraded the firmware on the LightCrafter. Could you verify for me that you followed the Firmware Upgrade instructions from section 2.6 in the LightCrafter User's Guide (available from the Technical Documents section on http://www.ti.com/tool/dlplightcrafter) and the instructions to upgrade the DM365 firmware from the ReadMe.txt file in the DLPLightCrafterFWSW directory of your software bundle's installation directory.

Hi Blair

thanks for your help about upgrading the firmware, I followed the instructions in the readme file in the folder lightcrafter_FWSW and now it works.

Now i have another question; is it possible that lightcrafter start directly in HDMI mode without open the GUI all times?

Hi Marco,

Yes, this is possible by using the solutions feature. While connected to LightCrafter with the GUI, go the "Solutions / Upgrade" tab, type the name of your solution (e.g. "HDMI Mode") in the textbox next to the "Save" button, and then click the "Save" button. You'll see the name of your saved solution appear in the list below. After it has appeared, click that solution, and then click the "Default" button.

Your LightCrafter should now start in whatever settings you saved in the solution you selected as "Default".
