What exactly does the dlpc300 use the spi flash for?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC300

Hi,

I am asking what exactly is stored in the spi flash of the dlpc300.  Is it firmware code?  Non-volatile parameters?

Does the read interface on the spi expected data immediately or is it a posted read?

What I'm try to figure out is do I need a separate SPI flash for the dlpc300 or can I use the flash connected to my processor and use a SPI interface inside of my fpga to connect to the dlpc300.  My fpga is a soc arm processor included chip.

Thanks,

Elaine

  • Elaine,

The SPI flash attached to the DLPC300 stores sequences and configuration data for the initialization of the DLPC300. This flash is not sharable. There are critical timing requirements which make this difficult or impossible.
