Is the DMD always off at DMD bit plane load time?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP5500, DLP7000, DLP4500

Is the DMD always off at DMD bit plane load time?

Is the behavior the same on DLP3000, DLP4500, DLP5500 and DLP7000?

Does DLP3000 and DLP4500 always use global clear or it use fast reset at some conidtions?

If DMD is off at DMD load time, the exposure time is 0 at max speed (4k) on DLP3000.

it means DMD would be never on at max speed (4K), right?

  • Hi Frank,

The DMD is off only during the loading of the 1st bitplane. After this from the 2nd bit-plane load time onward there is NO question of DMD off  this is because while it is displaying the current bit-plane the next bit-plane data can be loaded. So in short the off-time is only at the beginning for 1st bitplane display.
