LightCrafter can‘t work suddenly!

It works well until today.

Today I power up it as usual, but It didn't light up,and the D2 & D3 LED on Driver Board is light(a red and a green LED,The green LED is on continuous, the red LED flash every 10 sec).It seems something burn down on Driver Board ,because I smell some wrong.

  • GuoMin Zhan,

First, I apologize for the long delay answering your post.

Second, it does sound like you have burned something on the LightCrafter - perhaps on the driver board. Have you been able to look at the board and identify the damage? Were there modifications to the board before the failure? Do you have any idea what could have caused the burn-out?

  • The driver board looks the same as usual, but I have smelt something burned when it stops work. I once left it on for a long time in Pattern Sequence mode but it was stopped and displays nothing. Will this cause the damage?

And I'd like to know if I can get a return in this situation.

  • GuoMin Zhan,

Simply running a Pattern Sequence for an indefinite (long) time will not cause a burnout. But what were the other conditions? Supply voltage, ESD, temperature, physical?

The DLP LightCrafter is a product of Young Optics. TI does not have a return or repair option for the LightCrafter modules. Please speak to whomever you purchased the module from (distributor?) to see if they have any way to help.

  • Pascal

supply voltage、temperature、physical are normal operating,I really don't know what cause this situation.

I bought the module from TI web site at Hongkong ,I contact China wintech(闻亭)  send module to there by post, but they can't repair it.
