Lightcrafter SD command-line Video-player?

Hi there,

Is there a ready-to-boot SD card image which will allow the DM365 on the Lightcrafter to play videos (any format) stored on the SD card? I'm about to try putting together one of these myself using the DVSDK and a Ubuntu 10.04 virtual host, but it seems like the kind of thing someone might have done already.

Thanks very much!

  • Eric,

There is no ready-to-boot SD card image to do this, that I know of.

In order to develop within Linux on the DLP LightCrafter you will have to install the DVSDK (see http://www.ti.com/tool/dlplightcrafter). The DVSDK does boot from SD card.

I am not familiar myself with the details of how to play video on the LightCrafter from the DM365. I am passing this question on to someone who may be able to give more help.

In any event, I have used command line video players on other OMAP processors running Linux. I would recommend that you look at the application called mplayer.
