Only 15 images available when writing/loading solutions over SPI

Hello again!

I am successfully interfacing with the DLP solely using SPI -- I am able to write and load solutions, set the DLP Image Order LUT, read the software version, etc; right now every command I use is working well.

I've been loading and using small solutions of <=15 images without a problem for nearly two months, however when I load solutions with more than 15 images, only the first 15 are actually fully present. The 16th appears 'washed out' when illuminated, and looking at the DMD itself, I can see the 16th image appear and then quickly fade out. All other images are completely 'blank'.

To test this, I built a solution with 20 test images, where each image is a number that counts up in order from 1 to 20. The flash binary for the solution is attached, as well as the images seen for each of the 20 images. You can see that the 16th image is 'faded', and images 17, 18, 19, and 20 are 'blank'.

The DLP reports no errors at any time during the solution download, and the solution is loaded without a problem. No settings are changed from what is in the solution, the solution is simply loaded, an Image Order LUT written, and hardware triggers sent.

I have written the same solution to a demo board via USB using the X3 GUI, and all of the images display properly. I have also tried this via SPI on other hardware and gotten the same result, and I have tried this with several solutions ranging from 18 to 67 images. I have verified that I am sending the appropriate amount of data, however I am still in the process of recording and verifying the actual SPI traffic sent.

Is this a known issue, or am I doing something incorrectly? I'm happy to provide more information to help resolve this.

Thanks!

-Matt
