Problem display with 864x480 resolution on DLP LightCrafter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC300

Hi all,

I'm connecting DLPLightCrafter to Desktop. The first it not dislay, but when I updated 864x480 EDID Package. it dislay ok.

But now, it have problem when dislay on HMDI video, the follow picture is the screenshot:

It can't display full screen, I get its resolution from GUI and i see it have 608x684 resolution, i think problem is here, i re-setting resolution is 864x480, but its display still not change.

I reset and power down, but when i turn on, its resolution in video not change, it still is 608x684.

Anyone could help me ?

Thanks.

  • Hi Nguyen,

It is because the DLPC300 is still configured to 608x684 resolution.

Do one thing, refer to highlighted section in GUI, change this to 864x480 it should work fine.

    Regards,

    Sanjeev

  • Thanks you for your help Sanjeev,

I also do like you before but it not work, it still can't display full screen.

Have a unknow thing is that when i turn off power and turn on back, i get solution from GUI, it still is 608x684, not change.

When i connect Board to GUI, have message is version mismatch. I thinking that the reason maybe is not upgrade firmware for DM365. is it correctly ? i not yet try.

  • Hj, Sanjeev,

I test again on laptop, it also not display full screen, but when i adjust screen resolution by go to advanced setting and choose mode 608x684 in List all Mode, it display well, full screen.

I find and check again, so i see a difference between laptop and desktop. In List all Mode of Desktop, do not have 608x684 mode.

So, I think the reason maybe is graphics card on desktop do not support the 608x684 mode. I am using ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Graphics Card.

    Do you think so ?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Nguyen,

Yes, the default power-on state, the external video input is always configured to 608x684 resolution. If you are connecting any other resolution then you must adjust the input resolution as shown in the picture above.

You may consider updating the firmware.

Are you able to read the version of the system?

Can you provide full details of your kit?

    Regards,

    Sanjeev

  • Hi Nguyen,

    Yes, I think so.

In principle on any display system the sink (LightCrafter or any monitor) can tell what resolution it supports via EDID prom on the board, now the source (pc or laptop) can read the EDID and based on its capability it'll try to generate a signal with timing as close as possible, if the graphic card fails to adjust the desired resolution described in the EDID it may either 'not' generate or generate something wrong which sink cannot detect.
