DLP4500 can't quickstart nor connect USB

My apologies for not getting back to you sooner and thank you for starting a new thread. I had been meaning to move your other post actually.

Anyways, I believe that the DLPC350 could be corrupted. Since the fan is running, but the HEARTBEAT LED is not blinking that leads me to believe that there isn't a hardware issue, but a firmware issue.

I'd like you to try two things. While the GUI says it isn't connected to the LightCrafter 4500, please try uploading a firmware image with the GUI. If this does not help, add a jumper to J18 to force the DLPC350 to a programming mode. Then try uploading the firmware image from the GUI again. After the upload has completed, remove the jumper, power down the EVM, and reapply power to it.

Hi Blair,

I managed to update de firmware with the juper J18 installed but it didn't help. I tried to reconnect with the GUI but i didn't succeed with or without jumper on J18.

Is there something else that I can do?

Thanks for the reply. When I tried to flash the firmware, after the operation completes, light engine still does not turn on and I am unable to connect over USB. I tried it again, but this time hit "Verify" in the flash programmer after flashing and it said data mismatch at address 0x00000.

Is there anything else we could try?

Hello Omer,

How long did it take to complete flashing of the file? Were you able to detect the device in with Jtag Detect Chain? If not  it looks to me there is problem with your connection and hardware setup. Flash erase and programming not going through.

If the device is detected you should be able to erase and program the flash.

Another, costly and risky option is to remove the flash from the board, and program it via standard flash programming tool and re-solder back.

Or Just call to Wintech design house, send the board to them, they may be able to revive the board for you at some charge.

It took approximately 30 minutes to flash the file. The device was successfully detected and while I was flashing there was no indication that anything was wrong. There is a "Debug Board" function in the JTAG Programmer. Is this of any use to us?

Sorry for the late reply. We ended up ordering a new board from Wintech. I just checked this method and unfortunately the board is still not recognized by the windows machines/lightcrafter software. It seems like it is most likely a problem with the NAND so there is not much we can do about it.
