Another booting problem

Hello E2E,

I am having the exact same problem as posted by user Houman Kamran from this thread: http://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp__mems_micro-electro-mechanical_systems/f/850/t/176873.aspx?pi201799=1

I was also lead to this problem in the exact same way as this user. I desperately need pattern sequence to work and some threads I came across were successful in getting pattern sequence to work by simply upgrading the firmware and software to the latest versions.

Again, I did the upgrade exactly as this thread, the upgrade video, and the manual says to; with successful writing of the image file to the SD card whether I tried from the nand or sd. Houman says he got it to work finally by just turning the LightCrafter off from the driver board and on again after about a 5 second delay. However, this still does not work for me. I am getting very frustrated that the LightCrafter will still not boot after many times of trying directions verbatim.

Another piece of info is that when I try for a boot up, sometimes the splash display is somewhat more blurry than other times.

I am using a Kingston 4GB microSD and am on a Windows 7 machine.

Thanks in advance for any help. This is a cool little gadget and I would love to get it to work.

  • Update:

Everything is working! I tried a different microSD card. In retrospect I should have tried that before posting.

Anyways here is the info that can be added to the twiki page about updates and supported cards:

not supported: Kingston microSDHC 4 gb

    supported: Transcend microSD 2 gb

Thanks everyone for previous threads that helped me.

  • Hello Emily,

I am glad you got the LightCrafter up and running and that the pattern sequence mode is working for you!

Also thanks for your inputs regarding the SD cards that didn't work for you.

    Regards

    Manasi
