LightCrafter4500 Maximum-number-of-storable-patterns

Hi,

We think that it can only store up to six patterns(8-bit Grayscale) in LightCrafter4500.

Is there a good way to sequentially projecting 20 patterns?(8bit Grayscale,Pattern rate 34Hz-120Hz)

Seishin

  • Hello Seishin,

For pre-stored upto 6 8-bit patterns, it allows all the specification mentioned pattern rate 10Hz - 120Hz

Now for 20 patterns, you can store them on the flash. To display patterns that are stored in the flash, adds overhead to the controller, that is, controller needs to load each 24bit image real-time while it is showing patterns. Depending upon the image size stored on the flash, the download time varies anywhere b/w 70ms - 200ms.

For example - Lets assume all the 24bit images in flash have same worst case 200ms download time. So minimum of 200ms time needs to be utilized to show 3 8-bit pattern per 24 bit image, the pattern rate comes down to 1/(200/3)  ~ 15Hz pattern rate. Good case of 70ms download time, it will be around ~42.8Hz.

The approach to speed up is driving the patterns via RGB parallel port  interface of the controller.

    Regards,
