SYSTEM CALIBRATION CAPTURE NOT FOUND

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC350

system calibration always capture not found. camera view has capture full pattern, but always failed. How can I set the system_settings_camera.txt and system_settings_projector.txt?

  • Hi Chuang,

Could you upload a screen shot of which step is failing for you?  Since you are calibrating the system, I assume your camera calibration worked.

If the camera calibration works, the next step is system calibration.  Does the projected light (the light coming out of the projector) completely cover the printed checkerboard AND completely fall on the calibration surface?

    Regards,

  • Hi Rob,

I have got the same question as Chuang's. When I executed the system calibration, the projector didn't cast the calibration board, but I have executed the step 2, 3 and 4 successfully.

Besides, I want to know whether the projector cast the white light when the camera calibration execute. Thanks.

    Regards.

  • Hello Tian Spring,

The projector should cast a solid white light during the camera calibration. Do you have the trigger cable between the camera and projector connected? Without the cable the projector won't output any patterns because it expects a trigger from the camera.

The instructions to build the camera trigger cable are available here: http://www.ti.com/lit/df/tidu457/tidu457.pdf

    Best regards,

    Blair

  • Hi Rob,

I have got the same question as Tian Spring. The projector does not cast a solid white light during the camera calibration. I connect the camera and projector as "www.ti.com/.../tidu457.pdf"

  • Yu Peng,

I suspect that there is an issue in your connection between the LightCrafter 4500 and your camera. First, I would suggest double checking the electrical connections between the camera, trigger cable, and LightCrafter 4500. Also ensure that you have connected the pins properly, as in the Camera Trigger Cable Assembly document you referenced.

If the problem persists after checking this connection, perhaps you can send me a picture of the setup, especially the trigger cable connection.

    Best regards,
    Trevor
  • Hi Trevor,

I am referring to the steps in  http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/dlpu019/dlpu019.pdf Section 3.2 Camera Calibration Procedure and Section 3.4 Projector and System Calibration procedure.

1、At the step Section 3.2, the  Command Line show "projecting white pattern to illuminate calibration board" as labeled red in the follow picture. However, the projector does not cast a white pattern as the next picture,

2、 It's similar to the Section 3.4 that there is not Checkerboard casted by the projector.

3、I connect the camera,DLP,and PC  based on  http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/dlpu019/dlpu019.pdf and www.ti.com.cn/.../tidu457a.pdf:

         The actual connections :

4、At Section 3.3 Projector Preparation after I enter command "2", there are two ".bmp" pictures and one ".bin" file generated under the root: E:\ti\3D_Scanner_LCr4500_PGcam\3D_Scanner_LCr4500_PGcam.

             The two pictures are:

I think it's a bug for the procedure because the pictures are useless and It has not  been refered to generate them in the references. But when I run the step "2",they can be added to the DLPC350 firmware and displayed for 5 seconds at the end of this step(labeled red):

         Thanks a lot!

    Best regards,

    Yu Peng.
