Do I bought a broken LightCrafter EVM?

The figure is described in the specification of the trigger voltage

But I use a multimeter to measure the voltage of J7 as follows:

pin1-pin4=0V;

pin2-pin4=5.4V;

pin3-pin4=5.xV;(5.x mean tiny fluctuations in voltage of about 5V)

This is obviously inconsistent with the specification.So I think the LightCrafter EVM is a broken one. Is that so?

  • Hello  user4184095,

    I am not sure just measuring the voltages tell you the board is faulty,

    Have you connected trigger signals at the J7?

    Note, Trigger Supply, EXT_TRIG_VCC (pin 1) from J7 not going anywhere, because the resistors R285 and R295 not installed, by default on the board, these resistors are not populated. So you are expected to see OV, pin1-pin4.

    If you are not connecting the trigger_input signal i don't understand your purpose of measuring pin2-pin4 connection.

    Again pin3-pin4, did you enable the platform to run in pattern sequence mode? And also did you make sure the output trigger is enabled.

    Regards,

  • Dear Sanjeev:

    Thank you for your reply!

    [Have you connected trigger signals at the J7?]

    I haven't connected anything to J7 and haven't modify the circuit board. According to the board schematic,the voltage pin1-pin4 should be 0V.and if I don't enable output trigger and input trigger,the voltage of pin2-pin4=3.3Vwhen the LightCrafter EVM was just start, but it seems to grow slowly over time,after 15 minutes, the voltage of pin2-pin4=5.4V. But the voltage of pin3-pin4 was 0V.

    If I enable the input and output trigger,the situation is different from above.The voltage pin1-pin4 is 0V still .Andinput trigger,the voltage of pin2-pin4=3.3V when the LightCrafter EVM was just start, but it seems to grow slowly over time,after 15 minutes, the voltage of pin2-pin4=5.4V. And the voltage of pin3-pin4 also was 3.3V when the LightCrafter EVM was just turn on,Aut it seems to grow slowly over time,after 15 minutes, the voltage of pin3-pin4=5.xV.

    I am sure that I enable the platform to run in pattern sequence mode!!!

    Thank you again!
