DLP light crafter EVM as hardware for single pixel camera

Thanks for posting. Can you provide more details about your project requirements? Fundamentally, the LightCrafter projects light onto the DMD with an RGB light engine, which can display an image.

Thanks for replying.Actually in our project we have to throw light on an image and from that image light is going to fall on DMD and from DMD it is going to reflect into a light sensor..each time light falls on dmd we have to change the pattern of dmd so that each time it gives us a random pattern.we have a DMD and its controller .the problem we are facing is the interfacing of its controller (DLPC) and dmd so that we can change the pattern of dmd according to our desire.we have come to know that  in DLP light crafter they are already interfaced .but we don't know how to use DLP light crafter or how to control pattern of dmd in it ..

Hi Saqib,

I recommend you take a look at the LightCrafter user's guide for more information on the capabilities of the platform. If you are specifically interested in pattern generation, see section 2.8 Creating Pattern Sequences in the guide. Please let us know any questions you have after reviewing that document.

Actually we want an external image to fall on DMD .We are interested in the reflected part of image from DMD which is going to project out from DLP lightcrafter for further processing in our project.So basically im not getting this point that how i'm going to fall image on DMD in this kit ..

This is the image of what we are trying to do in our project .you can see image is falling on dmd and from there it is reflecting back only from on mirrors of dmd .

The Object image with Light Illuminated is foucused via Lens1 is always falling on the DMD.

You have to select proper optical elements Lens and Light source, note, the picture attached by you was experimented using Discovery chipset with bigger DLP DMD ~13um mirror size, in the LightCrafter it is half the size ~7um. So proper selection of lens in the system is important.

The role of the DLP/DMD in Compressive Sensing is sudo random pattern generator, that you can create the bit-planes and load onto the LightCrafter kit, and select them as needed. 

For this project - 

1. Selection pusedo random patterns

2. Selecting the right lens Lens-1 and Lens-2  is very important,  Photodiode selection another important thing, it is giving less light output than what you could get from the larger Discovery chip.

Actually this is our Final year project in bachelors so we have some limitations such that we have to use dlp light crafter 3000 so we can't use Dlp light crafter 4500 .also i know the importance of lens in our project will u please tell us that which lens will be better in our case .by your last post do you mean that we dnt have to fall the image directly on light crafter kit instead the light from dmd will be load into light crafter.I thought Light crafter kit have a dmd inside it so we will load a image in light crafter but know i m confused so please guide me in this regard ..
