Using DLP LightCrafter 4500 SDK encounter some problem

Hi all,

I use DLP LightCrafter 4500 to scan the object, so I try the SDK which provided from the TI. I run the SDK step by step like the user's guide writed, but I get the wrong point cloud data. when I scanned the flat plane, the result just at the under image. open the meshlab to see the point cloud can't see the flat shape .

I am so confused for that. Have anyone encountered the same problems as I have?
thanks

Kelvin

  • Hello Kelvin,

It looks like your calibration process did not give good calibration results. Could you tell me the reprojection errors you received from both the camera and system calibrations? For camera calibration, I can typically get a reprojection error less than 1 and for the projector less than 2.

Try recalibrating the camera and system. Be sure the move the calibration board to different distances so that each position is different from the others.

    Best regards,

    Blair

  • Hello Blair,

I moved the chessboard at different position already during the calibrate. I get the reprojection error 0.299253 from camera and 1.03842 from projector. It's acceptable for the system which less then 1 and 2. After run the calibrate system perform scan the flat plane. I got the same result that just like the under image.

    Best regards,

    Kelvin
