Hi,
I received a DLP 3010 EVM. When I powered on the EVM the projector is not turning on. D15 (SYSPWR) led is “ON" but D16(PWRNON) led is “OFF” even after I turned on the SW1 switch. Could someone advise how to resolve this issue?
Regards,
Manoj

Hi Manoj,
Sorry to hear that. Are you using power adapter INPUT: 100-240V, 50-60Hz, 0.5A. Output: + 5V, 3.0A?
Without flip SW1 switch, you should see D15 and D16 LEDs lit immediately.
If you use the correct power adapter and still cannot turn on the projector, please consider to send the unit back and exchange for another one.
Thanks.

Hello User,
Can you please measure the voltage on U17 pin 5? This is the 3.3V voltage regulator which is connected to D16.
Thank you,
Nadine
Hello Andy,
Can you please measure pin 5 on U12 and U1 ? U12 should put out 1.8V and U1 should put out 1.2V. I would like to see if the other supplies are still working.
It might be that only U17 is damaged.
Thank you,
Nadine
Hello Andy,
I might be that only U17 is damaged. Do you have a way to replace this part ? If not, TI has a 90 days return policy. Have you purchased this EVM less than 90 days ago ?
Thank you,
Nadine
Hello Andy,
1 Ohm is a little bit low. I measure on a good EVM 10kOhm.
If you really want you can try to change U17 but I would recommend to send the EVM back and we will replace it.
You can request a sample for this part see following link: https://store.ti.com/TPS62260DDCT-225MHz-600mA-Step-Down-Converter-in-2x2mm-SONTSOT23-Package-P17277.aspx
Thanks,
Nadine
Hello Nadine,
I've tried to remove U17 and C51 but the resistor from U17 pin 5 to GND is still low.
I think that send it back for checking will be better. Could I have the address and contact window to do that?
Thanks very much.
Andy
Hello Andy,
You should have received with your EVM an information page. You need to contact our Product Information Center. The phone number for your country is listed on the back of the information page.
Please let me know if you ran into any issues. Thanks.
Best regards,
Nadine
Hello Nadine,
Thanks very much for your support. No any modification.
The VBIAS=17.96V, VOFS=9.98V, VRST=-14.06V, is that ok?
BTW, sometimes, switch on, the L2 is quite hot then the system auto shut down, but the L2 is ok when the system power on successfully.
Thanks,
Andy
Hello Nadine,
Thanks,
Yes, the value of VBIAS, VRST and VOFS are measured while the projector normally turned on.
The EVM is not modified, and the projector usually can be turned on without problem, so I think the connection of LEDs should be ok.
If the projector can't be turned on, the L2 was hot with bad smell, but this situation is not too much, I don't remember the LED D5 is on or off.
It usually can be turned on at this moment, maybe I report it again if any further problem.
Best Regards,
Andy
