A Consultation of the Display of DLP LightCrafter

Dear TI Engineer:

I want to consult something that confusing me recently. The default resolution of the DLP LightCrafter is 608*684, which could not achieve the experimental request. Now we need the resolution to be 2000*2000 approximately, well, does TI supply some other advanced modules that can meet our experimental request?

Hello Ray,

Please look at the EVM http://www.ti.com/tool/dlplcr9000evm this one has 2560x1600 resolution.

Thank you for your reply! I have scanned the DLP Products Brochure on the TI site and found the DLP LightCrafter 6500 EVM. Its resolution is 1920*1080 and I guess this one can match our experimental request. Could it simply project an image of 1920*1080 just like the previous DLP LightCrafter EVM with the DLP3000 DMD? By the way its volume is a little bigger than the DLP LightCrafter EVM, does anyone smaller can do this?

Maybe it is a little unclear, I mean if the DLP LightCrafter 6500 EVM need an extra peripheral projector, because I didn't see any projecting device or light engine in this EVM.

Hi Sanjeev,

What is the main difference between the DLP display 3010 EVM and DLP lightcrafter 4500 (both with light engine) besides the price issue? How about the longevity of these two products?

Hello Ray,

The main difference is the 3010 EVM is for developing display applications using HDMI for the video data. The DLP LightCrafter 4500 enables additional functionality including high speed binary pattern displays, up to 4225 Hz, 32MB flash memory for pattern storage and two configurable I/O triggers that are typically used to synchronize the DLP LightCrafter 4500 with cameras.
