USB to GPIO interface adapter

I have a couple questions on the USB to GPIO interface adapter. A speedy reply is highly appreciated as I will need to order this item as quickly as I can.

1)

Is the following:

• USB interface adapter in an enclosure • Standard type-A to type-mini-B (5-pin) USB cable • 10-pin ribbon cable with connectors on both ends

included in the USB to GPIO Interface Adapter EVM from Ti. I am referring to the one in http://www.ti.com/tool/usb-to-gpio.  for $49. (It is the same one used in this question forum http://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp__mems_micro-electro-mechanical_systems/f/94/p/66460/395382)

If these items are not included, please tell me where I can buy those items  and which one exactly is required for the USB to GPIO interface adapter EVM. An exact description such as the type of connector (female or male, etc) needed or the exact usb cable needed is what I need if these items are not included already. (If I can get  links to where I can buy individually those required items, I would greatly appreciate it!)

2)

Is this particular one from TI (USB to GPIO Interface Adapter EVM) lead free (in some places I see that it is not). Also, will it work with Microsoft Windows XP.

I have read the previous forums and the user manuals several times. Please respond to this question as I need to order it as soon as possible.

(If I may suggest: If you are confused still about which one I am talking about please still provide information on the items you think I am referring to; instead of asking which one I am referring to without giving me any information. One of the ones you might describe is probably the one I am referring to. It saves valuable time instead of having me reply a yes or a one sentence description of what I am referring to and then waiting three or more days for a reply.)

Thank you so much

  • I have posted this question in the interface forum in case it can not be answered in this forum. I also forgot to mention that I am using the adapter with the DLP Pico Projector (I have removed the light engine so that I am only working with the digital micromirror device the (DLP 1700))
  • Hello Noor,

As I mentioned in your other post, I believe you will be able to find more complete answers to your questions in the "Power Management" E2E forums, as the part you link to seems to fall within the Power Management umbrella. For DLP specifically, we recommend using the DeVaSys USB-I2C connector to communicate with our products. I hope this helps you find the help you need!

    Best regards,
    Trevor
  • I apologize for writing in the wrong forum. I have received the USB to GPIO adapter and it does include all three. I posted another question in the interface forum though.
  • Quite alright! Please let us know if you have any New DLP Applications questions by posting another thread in this forum!

    Best regards,
    Trevor
