how to write OSD program in MSP340 ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC3438, DLPC6401

hi ,

I am a freshman who is programming the MSP340 to drive the DLPC chip DLPC2601/DLPC3438 ,i would like to know how to program the OSD to display on DMD

and link my key to control the special function .i really do need to your support to help me to fix the bottleneck .my product is a projector .

i am looking forward to replying from one of experts of TI or other friends .

  • Hi,

Unfortunately, Both DLPC2601/DLPC3438 don't support OSD. OSD is a hardware function and OSD image needs to overlay on TOP of regular image. This is not something MSP430 software can do.

You can find some front end receivers that can do OSD or use DLPC6401 which can support OSD. All of these are hardware function on OSD, but you can program the OSD registers to control the OSD.

  • hi,

thanks for your response .would you please recommand a number of chip which is base on MCU struction ? (because we are familiar with C language)

    thanks so much again .

  • Hi Jack,

One Front end I can think of is Actions Micro’s AM8280. This is a new F/E which has OSD, MCU, but Actions Micro has other existing F/E chips which include MCU and OSD. Please check with Action Micro for detail. Note, Action Micro is a company by its own and is not a part of TI. We don't support any of Action Micro products.
