DLPC300 Parrallel Interface Timing (Figure 12)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC300

I have a question on the DLPC300 datasheet (pg.22) - as attached. Thanks!

  1. Why is Tp_tvb=12 lines? It should equal to the sum of Tp_vbp + Tp_vfp=3 lines, isn't it?
  2. Is Tp_thh a typo? Should be Tp_thb (total horizontal blanking)? Why is it blank? My understanding is minimal 12 pclks.

  • #1. Controller specification is that the total vertical blanking interval must be >= 12 lines. So even if Tp_vbp + Tp_vfp=3, you are still required to send 12-3 = 9 lines of data as part of Vertical Blanking signal.

#2. Yes it is typo it should Thb. Since it also depends on the LR and fclock for calculation we have left it blank. In other words this number can be determine when LR and clock of the source is know. Based on that we can find the minimum blanking time.
