"bare bones" way to control a DMD? (limited budget)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP7000

If I want to control a DLP7000 DMD, what is the minimum  I need to use?

This is for a science project about building a color swept volume volumetric display with 3 such DMDs (for red, green and blue). The cost of the DMD chipsets is under my budget  but making them work together is not well documented. Getting 3 "Discovery 4100" ready kits which are easy to control I think will be extremely expensive, plus is out of stock and final seller's site is not in english.

I already have 3 DLP7000 DMDs and remaining budget of $2000. I need to control these 3 DMDs at 1900 Hz greyscale. What will you suggest me to use to control these DMDs, if there is anything at this price range?

  • Hi Leo,

Check out Section 9 Application and Implementation of the DLP7000 datasheet, that will explain the 3 other chips that are required for reliable operation of the DLP7000 and will have other good information on implementing DLP7000 applications.

Information on purchasing can be found on their individual web pages.

    Best regards,
