Anti-virus software blocks DLP Light Crafter 6500 & 9000 GUI

I am using the DLP Light Crafter 6500 EVM and controlling it with the provided GUI. Unfortunately, since a virus update from may 11, Symantec Endpoint Protection blocks some functionalities of the GUI: When I choose the Pattern On-The-Fly Mode and then try to load an image, the GUI gets blocked by the anti-virus software before the opening dialog would appear normally (the detector says: Trojan/ Virus: SONAR.SuspBeh!gen604). Is it an error of the anti-virus software or could there be an update of the GUI which will solve the issue?

Thanks for your help and best wishes,

Stefan

  • Hello Stefan,

This is not an issue that we have seen before with the DLP LCR 6500 & LCR 9000 GUI. Is it possible that this warning is unrelated to the GUI?

If not, are you able to disable the warning for this program?

    Best regards,
    Trevor
  • Dear Trevor,

Thanks for the reply. However, it seems to be related to the GUI since the effect is reproducible even when uninstalling and reinstalling the software and it's the same on other computers of our company. For the moment we have defined an exception in the anti-virus software for this GUI so that I can continue working. It's actually more than a warning, the Symantec Endpoint Protection immediately puts the exe into quarantine.

    Best,

    Stefan

  • Stefan,

I will look into this issue further and get back to you again in a week or so. Please let me know if you find more details in the mean time.

    Thanks,
    Trevor
