A 912 * 1140 resolution picture sequence mode transmission needs much time?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC350, DLP4500

A 912 * 1140 resolution images. The image is generated by an external FPGA, video port transfer to the lightcrafter 4500. If you use sequence mode, using the mode 0 trigger. So how much time can be transmitted fastest End show? Please give an example calculatio

  • Hi,

DLPC350 can accept upto RGB 24-bit data upto 120Hz.

Now with respect to displaying of 1 to 8 bit data it is explained in DLP4500 EVM User's Guide http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/dlpu011d/dlpu011d.pdf section Table 4-1. Allowable Pattern Combinations.

  • I ask this question in order: I do a project, you need a short transmission 1000 912 * 1140 pixel images, with a sequence trigger 0 Mode (Vsync trigger), so I am more concerned about the complete picture of the fastest transmission time. If time is too long, then, is not appropriate.
I look at the instruction manual, the fastest rate sequence mode is 2880 (1 bit depth), so if a picture how to calculate transmission time?

  • Input video frame, you can have 24 1bit images, for 1000 1bit image, 1000/24 = 42 frames, so you have to pack 1bit images in order to form 24 frames and then send the video frames at the timing of  120Hz frame rate.

This would produce the desired 2880Hz fps.
