Is continual high pitched noise usual for DLP6500?

I recently purchased a DLP6500, and it's working well. However, whenever it's plugged in to the power, it makes a high pitched whining sound. It's been doing this since I first opened it about a week ago. Is this usual for the device? If not, do you know what's causing it? It's a bit annoying but not too bad. I just want to make sure that there isn't something wrong that will cause problems in the future.

Hi Tori,

Some high pitch noise from the power supplies can be normal. As long as you follow the power supply specifications found in the user's guide, everything should be fine.

I hear high-pitch noise from the DMD (NOT from the power supply), which continues after I turn on the power of DLP LightCrafter 6500. I also want to make sure that there isn't something wrong that will cause problems in the future.

Hello Yongjin,

I was referring to the power chips on the board, not the power supply which plugs into the wall. Any noise from these chips should not cause problems in the future.
