LCr 4500 needs a couple of reboot to be turned on

It's been a couple of weeks now since LCr 4500 arrived but I noticed that after long period of power-off state (around 10 hours), when the device is turned on, it always shows red LED (indicator) at first. I know the indicator should be blinking green. So after I cycle rebooting process by turning off and turning on the device again a couple of times, the LED finally shows green. If the power-off state is like 30 minutes to 1 hour, the LED shows normal (blinking green) whenever turned on. Is this a normal behavior of this device or is there anything wrong with the device? Thanks

  • It should boot normally i.e., once you apply power within 3-4 seconds the LED should start blinking, if it is staying red means controller is not booting, how are you powering off the system? Are you disconnecting the Power Input then applying fresh power after 10-hours? Check your power supply? If you have left USB connected, can you also try doing the experiment by removing USB cable?

You mentioned turning on device couple of times, how are you doing this step? removing and applying fresh power?

  • My LCr 4500 is currently connected to 12V 5A AC adapter that is plugged into a surge protector. Since I don't know of a proper power-up/down switch on the device, I used power switch of the surge protector to turn on/off the device. Do I need to use stand-by switch before turning off the device? Generally what is the proper procedure to turn on/off the device? Thanks.

  • We prefer toggling the metal switch located closer to the miniHDMI connector in the PCB bottom side, this would park the DMD safely and then take out the power.
