How to make Lightcrafter 4500 project black and white image

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC350

Hi,

I am now currently working with DMD with laser beams, we want to shape the laser beam by turning the on-off switches of the micro mirrors.

I watched the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxgmGkNsqvk , however the GUI seems to be different from the 2.0.0 version and I was confused.

How can I simply project a black and white (not gray scale) image?

By the way, does that mean that the on-off patterns of the DMD micro mirrors are the same as the black and white image we uploaded?

I am a starter in this are, so can you tell me what is, or where to look up the definitions of "Bit depth", "Bit position"

Great thanks,

Allen

  • Hi Allen,

If you take a look at the bottom of page 27 in the DLPC350 controller datasheet (www.ti.com/.../dlpc350), you can find a description of bit planes and how they apply to video input to the controller.

It sounds like you plan to use 1-bit images. You can use the 'Pattern Sequence' mode to display these, either from on-board memory or through the video input While the GUI has changed since that video was created, the functionality still exists in the GUI and has been improved. Please reference the user's guide (www.ti.com/.../dlpu011).

Let us know if you have any additional questions please let us know.

    Thanks,
    Clinton
