DLP NIRscan Nano Evaluation IR LED

Hi,

Can I know the specifics of the Illumination Lamps for the DLP NIRscan Nano Evaluation? I checked the mechanical BOM and the only description I found is the part manufacturer (International Light Technologies). A part number would greatly help. Also, if I want to find a different light source what are the key Light descriptors and indicators that I should take into account of. Can any light source work or they should have spectral range of Visible-IR?

  • Hello Danson,

Thank you for catching this.  We have noted it for the next update to the BOM.

The International Light Technologies (ILT) part number is:

    1088-1  [Description:  1088-1 - T-1 Lens End Lamp]

    I hope this helps.

  • Danson,

Regarding a different light source, the key is that the illumination source should be reasonably uniform (no dropouts or huge spikes in the spectrum) across the band you plan to measure.

It is hard to find a light source that is just 900 nm - 1700 nm. Most lamps that cover this range will also have significant visible content also. That is what the bandpass filter in front of the grating does. It eliminates light from the system that is not in the region of interest.
