Pattern Sequence mode with different Pattern count

Hello,

I have strange Phenomenon with using Lightcrafter3000. The lines (DMD ON lines) seem to be a little bit narrower if we set the "Pattern Cnt" =42 (over 24) compare to "Pattern Cnt" =1 (24 and below). You can see below two different images.

Pattern Count =1

Pattern Count =42

We doubted the Camera Capture window that could be cut the proper bit-plane made it narrow. But we could see on the projection screen too. Therefore I have just thought that the projector control itself affects some and camera should not be related about this phenomenon.

Takeshi

  • Hello Takeshi-san,

Are you by any chance referring to shifting of pixels by two lines?
For > 24 patterns or for any scenario where the buffer rotation is running i.e., jumping from one buffer to the other, as you know the FPGA generate 2 horizontal lines to jump from one buffer to the other. In such situations the first line of the actual pattern is actually shifted by two lines; and the first two lines in the beginning now occupied with the two horizontal lines coming from FPGA. Not sure you are referring to this behavior.

  • Hello Sanjeev-san,

I forgot about dummy two lines for buffer swapping. Sorry about this.. I confirmed with the FPGA related document. However, if we would like to display without any shifts we should prepare the image with removing top two lines? Otherwise if we set over 48 counts than shifts 2 x2 lines, and over 72 counts cause 2 x 2 x 2 = 6 lines shift? Sorry about the very basic question.

  • Hello Takeshi-san,

    >> However, if we would like to display without any shifts we should prepare the image with removing top two lines?
This is a simplest and good approach to avoid shifting issue, in your image processing you can always ignore top two lines; create images where the actual image content starts from line #2 and you can leave line #0 and line #1 as black or white. What it also means is that available information is now 606x684 from the 608x684 captured image.
