About DLP lightcrafter triggering a camera

I am a new user to DLP lightcrafter EVM. I want to use it to trigger a Photron camera FASTCAM-APX RS. But when I use an Oscilloscope to measure the output trigger signal, I found the signal is not TTL but like impulse signal, which was really weird. And the peak amplitude of the signal is very small, less than 1 V, which is useless. I don't know what is wrong. Could the problem be from the connector? And should I make some changes to the circuit? Thank you!

  • Hi Di,

Welcome to the forums! Could you provide some more details on how you are configuring and running the LightCrafter? Are you in internal pattern sequence mode or streaming? What do you have the output trigger settings configured to? Is the EVM displaying what you expect?

By default the output trigger should be a 3.3V square pulse on pin 3 of the J7 connector on the system board (top board). Please see page 13 of the schematic PDF. The schematic files for the LightCrafter can be found here: www.ti.com/.../dlp3000-c300ref

    Thanks,
    Clinton
