What is the best way to project a large number of patterns using the DLP?

Hi,

I am using the DLP LightCrafter 4500 to project pre-defined monochromatic (green) patterns onto a screen. I know that one way to do it would be to use the in-built flash memory, but this does not have a large enough storage for our purposes. Therefore I am using the DLP in pattern mode, with video input, so it runs as a secondary screen. I selected only one bit frame, so it is constantly showing only the same bit frame of the 24-bit video input. MATLAB is then used to show the patterns onto the screen (using the function imshow). However, this method is quite slow. I have also tried putting my patterns into a video and playing it on this secondary screen, but have met with the problem of dropped frames.

Do you have any advice on how to do this better?

Thank you.

Best Regards

Cheryl
