Interface reference design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4710, DLPA3005, DLP4501, DLPC6401, DLPC3439

Hello:

The 4710 interface is 100pin,  can you provide a reference design of the 100pin to the 80pin? As shown in the following picture:

  • Hello Chang,

    Hello Chang,

Thank you for your interest in our DLP Technology. This reference design is for the DLP4501 DMD. The DLP4710 DMD chipset contains the DLC3439 controller and DLPA3005.

The DLP4710 DMD can not be used with the DLPC6401. Can you please help me understand what you would like to achieve ?

    Best regards,

    Nadine

  • Nadine:

I know "The DLP4710 DMD can not be used with the DLPC6401".
My question is "can you provide a reference design of the 100pin to the 80pin?"
    Because 4701 is 100pin, the 3439 interface is 80pin.
    The picture is an example.

thx for your answers and help.

  • Hello Chang,

I am answering for Nadine today.

I do not understand part of your question.

What is the 4701 and 100pin that you are referring to?

Yes, the DLPC3439 to the DLP4710 interface is through an 80-pin flex cable.

  • Hello Chang,

After reviewing your original message I am guessing that you are referring to the DLP4501 DMD .
The DLP4501 interface connection in your pix has 80-pin, so I do not understand the reference to a 100-pin interface.

Also, the DLPC3439 ASIC is not compatible with the DPP4501 DMD.

There is no conversion from the 100-pin interface connector to the 80-pin interface connector.

  • Hello Roger,

As you said:"Yes, the DLPC3439 to the DLP4710 interface is through an 80-pin flex cable."

    But the DLP4710 is 100-pin.

I want to know is 100-pin turn 80-pin reference design

thx for your answers and help.

  • Hello Chang,

Yes the DLP4710 DMD package has 100 pins.

If you refer to the DLPDLCR4710EVM development platform that uses the DLP4710, you only need an 80 pin connector interface between the DLPC3439s and the DLP4710 DMD.

Please refer to the DLPDLCR4710EVM, http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/tidrew6 , schematics and the pix below from that schematic.

    Regards,

    Roger
