4710 EVM HDMI source white pattern brightness is lower than internal testing pattern 10%

Hello Nadine

4710 EVM HDMI  source input white pattern brightness is lower than internal testing  pattern 10%。How can we solve?

Best regards,

Tom

  • Hello Tom,

I have a few questions to better understand the problem.

    • What are you using as an input source ?
    • Are you inputting a true white = RGB 255 255 255 with a resolution of 1920x 1080 ?
    • Are you current settings and the look selection identical ?
    • Do you have CAIC enabled ?

    Best regards,

    Nadine

  • hello Nadine

    • What are you using as an input source ?
        • The input source is a laptop
    • Are you inputting a true white = RGB 255 255 255 with a resolution of 1920x 1080 ?
        • yes
    • Are you current settings and the look selection identical ?
        • The same setting and look
    • Do you have CAIC enabled ?
        • disabled CAIC, But I found that enabled CAIC and setting gain: 4 ,HDMI source brightness will reach the level of the internal pattern

I want to know, disabled CAIC.How to get the same brightness?

    Best regards,

    TOM

  • Hello Tom,

We experienced that laptops normally do not output a true white with RGB 255 255 255. This results into the brightness loss you mentioned earlier.

The only way to fix it to change the input source which truly provides a RGB 255 255 255.

Otherwise you can use the Gain function with CAIC enabled or increase the strength value under brightness boost.

    Best regards,

    Nadine
