Why programming flash ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC350

I am have recently started developing DLPC350 and read the related documents. It seems that after installing ''DLPLCR4500GUI-1.2.0-windows-installer'', I can download the firmware and upload it to the flash, does it mean that I have installed the firmware and I can use DLP for further application ? If it dose, what is the procedure in ""> DLP® LightCrafter™ 4500 Flash Programming Guide" for?

Happy new year !

  • Hi,

If you are working with a LightCrafter4500 that already has a working DLPC350 FW loaded on the flash, then you can upload different versions of the FW with the GUI. If the flash has been corrupted or is blank, then you will need to directly write to the flash over JTAG. You would use the 'Flash Programming Guide' for this.

Please note that the latest GUI version is 3.0.1. You mentioned an out dated version (1.2.0).

    Thanks,
    Clinton
  • Hi,

Thanks for your reply. So generally it is not necessary to program the flash ? I shall try to test the performance of DLPC4500 EVM.

    Thanks
