Cross Over Time

Hi,

I am an engineer and I think the DLP 4500 crafter is very suitable for my further development. I want to use the DMD to generate 1000HZ light square wave. But there are two things I can not get the point.

1. I saw the cross over time is 3-µs. Does it mean that I can generate 1000HZ square light wave without worrying about the switch rate?

2. what does the Max Pattern Rate mean? Is it related with the max modulation rate.

  • Hello,

    1. The nominal crossover time is actually 5µs. I am not sure exactly what you mean by square light wave, do you mean you would like to display an all black image followed by an all white image and then repeat the sequence? If so, you are capable of switching between those two binary patterns at a rate of 4 kHz, which should meet your needs.

    2. Every image displayed on the DMD is considered a "pattern." So, the maximum pattern rate is the rate at which the DMD can display those patterns. This rate differs based on the bit-depth of the pattern. Let us know if this does not answer your question.

Also, I am going to move your thread into a forum which covers LightCrafter 4500 topics, someone should be able to address any further questions there.

    Best regards,
    Trevor
  • Thanks. yes, I think the switching between those two binary patterns at a rate of 4 kHz can meet my need.
