Switch ON/OFF the PRO4500 Engine

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC350

Hello,

some week ago i bought a "PRO4500 Wintech Production Ready Optical Engine", below a photo of the installed engine.

My engine will be used on a 3D printer with a software that can control the projector via serial connection.

Now my question is: Is it possible to send a command to switch on / off the projector?

With a normal projector (for example ACERH6510BD) it is possible to send an hex command. Is there a similar way?

Thank you

Francesco

  • Hello Francesco,

The PRO4500 command interface is identical to the LightCrafter 4500 as the same DLPC350 chipset is used in both projectors. There is no way to completely power down the projector with digital control, however you can turn the LEDs OFF/ON to control projection via I2C or USB control. See the DLPC350 Programmer's Guide http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/dlpu010 Section 2.3.7.1 for information on the LED enable command. The PRO4500 typically uses a single LED on the Blue LED channel.

    Thanks,

    James

I was trying to find it, but it was impossible.

    Thank you,
