Hi all, new guy here looking for options for DLP image projection in the NIR band (~1.06nm).

We're looking at using two DLP mirror chips on an optics breadboard as part of a projection system.

I've read several posts that indicate the DLP4500NIR mirror can be used with the DLP LightCrafter 4500 EVM electronics to form the basis of a NIR projection system and I otherwise believe the LightCrafter 4500 EVM suite our needs functionally.

Questions:

Has the DLP LightCrafter 4500 EVM modified with the DLP4500NIR mirror generally worked as expected for those that have tried it?

Any complications or things to be aware of in going this route?

Are there other readily available solutions I might consider for NIR DLP?

I look forward to hearing from those with experience in this area and thank you in advance for your insight.

Hi Jeff,

The NIR device will plug right in after disassembling the 4500EVM. So just using some basic ESD precautions, you'll can use the electronics board as-is as long as the DMD can stay close to the main board (about 1-2").

If you need a longer distance between the drive board and your optical set, we have a LC4500 electronics kit (backward compatible with the Lightcrafter API) that has support around 30 cm distance using a cable.
